Founded in 1971, the program immerses students in German language and the Austrian culture so that they may explore the world of international business, science, politics and arts. Students will rub elbows with the Viennese in old world cafes, attend theatrical and musical performances, visit castles and museums, and hike and ski in the Austrian Alps.
The program offers a unique combination of core and elective courses so that students will continue to make progress toward graduation while taking advantage of opportunities only available in Vienna.
The core courses taught by the program’s staff focus on modern Austrian/German literature, the history of the Austrian/German culture and select topics in Austrian /German studies. The staffs also teach additional courses in Intermediate German and Advanced composition and conversation. Additional German language courses are available through the University of Vienna and Business German is offered at the University of Economics and Business Administration. Elective courses are offered at affiliated Austrian universities and covers fields ranging from accounting to zoology.
Courses are offered in the Fall and Spring semesters. All core courses are taught in German and the program strives for immersion in the German language and culture of Austria.

Accommodation
All students are housed in dormitories or apartments that are secured with the help of the resident director.
