More than 200 policymakers, academics, and energy industry experts gathered at Suffolk University Law School on Oct. 14-15, 2007, for the New England Council’s "New England Innovation: Ideas for the Region’s Energy Future" summit.
Sixteen New England congressmen took part in panel discussions exploring alternative energy and previewing energy legislation.
The conference was organized by the New England congressional delegation and the New England Council, a regional association of businesses, academic and health institutions, and public and private organizations, that works to promote economic growth.
New England Council President Jim Brett introduced the summit, which included panel discussions addressing:
Congressman Edward Markey, D-Mass., delivered the keynote address, “Outlook for Energy Legislation in this Session.”
Congressman John Larson, D-Conn., concluded the two-day conference, discussing “The Strength of a Regional Approach in Congress.”
