• Visit from Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade

3/9/2009

A delegation from Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) visited Suffolk University and the Center for International Education on March 9th, 2009.  Founded in 1960, SIFT is an institution of higher learning originally subordinate to the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation but under the administration of the Shanghai Municipal Government since 1994.   In the past forty-six years and more, SIFT has turned out for the country large numbers of topnotch professionals in the field of international business, or the backbone of multinational or foreign – related enterprises, giving full play to their talents in the realm of international trade and business.

The group from SIFT was warmly greeted by Vice President Marguerite Dennis, Director of Second Language Services, Linday Foley-Vinay, Director of International Alumni Affairs, Dan Wu, and Director of International Communications, Oliver Stone.  Two SIFT alumni also stopped by to welcome the delegation.  Monica Tian and Jiajie Fang both graduated from SIFT and are now pursuing degrees in Master of Science in Accounting at Suffolk.

Suffolk University will collaborate with SIFT and host the first group of students from SIFT this summer.
