Action Plan
- Talk to your parents (see Parent Information)
- Set up an appointment with the Office of Study Abroad Programs by calling 617.573.8072 or emailing yhinnawi@suffolk.edu or dsantoro@suffolk.edu.
- Complete an initial inquiry form online or in our office
- Select a program and/or the destination where you wish to study abroad
- Make sure you meet all the requirements of study abroad (see Policies & Procedures)
- Review printed materials from the Office of Study Abroad Programs and on the program of choice
- Decide if you will study abroad for a semester or an academic year or for a two-week faculty-led program
- Complete application form or apply online
- Make sure you have seen your academic advisor and selected your courses
- Make sure you have the necessary signatures - academic advisor & dean of college
- Make sure you have submitted all required documents, see checklist
- Submit completed application form to the Office of Study Abroad Programs at Suffolk University prior to deadlines

- Drop off in person: 6th Floor, Rosalie K. Stahl Center at 73 Tremont Street
- Deadlines for studying abroad for:
- Summer Semester - March 15th
- Fall Semester - May 15th
- Spring Semester - October 15th
- Submit $500.00 (non-refundable) deposit 2 weeks after acceptance letter is mailed to reserve your spot within the program. Deposit will be put towards your tuition cost for the program.

- Obtain a passport (if necessary) & visa (if applicable, check with Office of Study Abroad Programs to see if you will need a visa for your program)
- Purchase an ISIC card (International Student Identity Card) - optional
- Make your travel arrangements - make sure to provide the Office of Study Abroad Programs with your final flight itinerary
- Get your shots & enough refills on your medication for your time abroad
- Develop a budget - consider in-country cost before you go
- Learn about your destination
- Attend Pre-Departure Orientation
- Pay your tuition balance
- Pack - make sure you have a converter for all electronic devices you take abroad
- Enjoy!
