Marguerite J. Dennis has served as a higher education administrator since 1967, first at St. John’s University in New York then at Georgetown University in Washington, DC and since 1989 at Suffolk University in Boston.
As Vice President for Enrollment and International Programs, Marguerite is responsible for the marketing, recruitment and enrollment of undergraduate and graduate students at Suffolk University. This function includes admission, financial aid, registration, research and the implementation of the University’s strategic enrollment, retention and international program plans.
Vice President Dennis has lectured nationally and internationally on higher education issues. She is the author of more than 100 articles and the author of “A Practical Guide to Enrollment and Retention Management in Higher Education,” and “Trends in Higher Education.”
As Vice President for Enrollment and International Programs, Marguerite is responsible for the development and implementation of all the University’s international programs including new international student market development, study abroad programs, student and faculty exchange programs, and articulation and combined degree programs.
Since assuming responsibility for international programs at Suffolk University, Vice President Dennis has assisted with the following:
• Creating a branch campus in Madrid, Spain
• Creating a branch campus in Dakar, Senegal
• Increasing the international student population by 385%.
• Increasing the number of study abroad programs from 20 to 50 with over $1 million in revenue.
• Signing collaborative agreements with schools in:
Chongqing and Shanghai, China
Kyoto, Japan
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Tbilisi, Georgia
Buenos Aires, Argentina
• Creating the Center for International Education
• Creating a Board of International Advisors
Vice President Dennis also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate School of Education at Suffolk University
