Located in the university area of the city, Suffolk Madrid campus is easily accessible to the city center. A short bus or subway ride will take you wherever you want to go. We are a five minute walk from the nearest Metro station. Our nearest neighbor is the Universidad CEU San Pablo, an acclaimed private Spanish institution. By special academic agreement, the two universities offer a broad range of courses and extracurricular activities in which students can participate.
A diverse international student body
Suffolk Madrid enrolls about 150 students who come from Spain and other European Union countries, Asia and Africa; and many come from the United States. Visitors comment on the energy and excitement of our students’ intellectual curiosity. They are open to rediscovering their place in the world by exploring new cultures. We encourage the sharing of international perspectives and ideas. Suffolk Madrid’s intimate size and student-centered philosophy allow us to provide close attention to each individual. Our professors work closely with students to guide their academic progress and keep them on the right course to achieve their academic goals. We help our students adapt to life in Spain—on campus, in their housing arrangements, through carefully planned excursions—and guide them in the development of intercultural communication skills that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Language is never a barrier. Those who do not speak Spanish are introduced to the language as soon as they arrive. We also provide many opportunities for those who wish to improve their English before they continue their studies in the United States.
A campus that supports learning
Rising above the intersection of Avenida del Valle and Isaac Peral, our modern brick building blends easily into the quiet residential neighborhood. Inside you’ll find:
- Modern, fully equipped classrooms
- A library with high-speed internet connections to Suffolk’s extensive library and databases in Boston
- The most advanced computer systems of any American university in Madrid
And whether it’s doing research in a computer lab or a quiet chat in the comfort of the student lounge, there’s always something going on.
A high level of support for students
The staff at Suffolk Madrid begins taking individual care of students from the first application through the completion of their studies. On arrival day, we greet students at the airport. We provide both academic and non-academic orientations to prepare them for their educational experience in Spain. Each student is assigned an active, knowledgeable academic advisor.
Learning outside the classroom
Beyond formal academics and excursions, we invite students to participate in our active student government, theater, film, and music activities. For more opportunities and a chance to make some Spanish friends, Suffolk students can also take part in athletic programs and social gatherings at Universidad CEU San Pablo.
