SUMC students discovered the dramatic natural beauty of Cuenca and Teruel provinces in mid-March, which included the karstic formations in Ciudad Encantada, the imposing gorges encircling Cuenca and the medieval jewel in Albarracín that is neatly tucked away from modern day intrusions. Roman ruins in the village of Valeria and the romantic monument to Teruel’s 14th century star-crossed lovers rounded out the weekend excursion.
