We hope you had a transformative time abroad and are excited to share that energy with your peers in Boston. We know you are coming back home with all sorts of memories, stories, pictures, and nostalgia that you want to share with your friends. Unfortunately, after a little while your friends may get a little bit tired of hearing all of your stories, but lucky for you we have an audience who won't!
Study Abroad Peer Mentors
The Study Abroad Peer Mentors are a student club at Suffolk University. The Peer Mentors meet throughout the semester to plan events and support students who are planning their study abroad experience. They put on events open to the entire campus community such as the Around the World Lunch featuring some of their favorite dishes from their host countries. They also host Coffee and Cookie Hours and help out during the study abroad Pre-Departure Orientation to share their experiences, advice, and wisdom with students who are about to go abroad. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, sign up to join them at the beginning of the semester when you return to Boston!
Events and Workshops
The Center for International Programs and Services hosts several different events each semester for students returning from abroad. Pay attention to your Suffolk email for details on events such as:
- The returnee dinner
- Photo contests
- New England Returnee Conference (usually held in late February each year)
- Unpacking Your Cultural Suitcase: International Careers
