- Employment awards are NOT credited to your tuition account. You receive payment for the hours you work via direct deposit / paycheck. The payroll schedule has been sent to your supervisor and is published in the student newspaper at the start of each semester.
- Employment awards are divided by semester. If you received a $2000 Work Study award you may earn $1000 during the Fall semester and $1000 during the Spring.
- If you graduate, withdraw, are academically dismissed or drop to less than six credits per semester, you are no longer eligible to participate in a student employment program. (M.S.F. students are cautioned they may NOT work for any quarter not enrolled.
- All aid recipients must be making satisfactory academic progress. Guidelines for satisfactory academic progress are in your brochure entitled “Everything You Need To Know About Your Financial Aid Award Letter” and on our website.
- You must inform your supervisor if you can’t report to work. You can be terminated for frequent absences.
- Transfers are discouraged. Call Chuck in the Student Employment Office (617) 573-8751 if you are having a problem with your job and are thinking about a transfer.
- If you must resign your position at least two weeks notice is required.
- During classes no student may work more than 20 hours per week. Federal law prohibits International students from working over 20 hours per week and violations will be reported immediately to INS.
- You are not paid for sick time, lunch hours, holidays, overtime, Jury duty, etc.
- All required employment forms must be in the Aid Office by the following deadlines or the award will be revoked: Fall 2006 & Spring 2007 awards - Oct. 31 Spring 2007 awards - Feb. 28
- Don’t just disappear. We would hate to see you leave Suffolk but if you must go – contact the Dean of Students at (617) 573-8239 and complete all required withdrawal forms.
- Aid recipients are required to attend their classes. Not attending classes can have a negative impact on your financial aid.
- May 5, 2007 is the last day a student may work. Students will not be paid for hours worked after that date without prior approval from the aid office.
