Name: Melanie
Hometown: Canton, MA
Major: Master of Science in Criminal Justice

Melanie received a BA in Criminal Justice and minors in Sociology and Spanish from the University of Delaware. During a winter session break from her undergraduate institution, Melanie had the opportunity to intern for five weeks at the Canton Family and Probate Court, where she learned more about the family court system in Massachusetts.

After attending a large undergraduate university, Melanie was excited at the prospect of smaller classes and close mentoring relationships with her professors.  She was also very attracted to the area that Suffolk is located, in downtown Boston on Beacon Hill. She also was impressed that Suffolk has a Center for Restorative Justice, which is a potential career path for her.

Melanie is enthusiastic to be a full-time Masters student at Suffolk and is excited to get to better know Boston and experience all it has to offer. She hopes that her experience in graduate school will help her to fine-tune exactly what area of Criminal Justice she will pursue.
