Suffolk University renders admission decisions on a rolling basis. The deadlines created are to assist applicants in submitting the necessary credentials in a timely manner. Once an application is complete*, it will be reviewed by the Admission Committee and a decision will be made soon thereafter. You will be considered only for the semester for which the application is made. The Office of Graduate Admission will notify you of the decision by mail. Registration materials will be sent out approximately 1-2 months before classes start.
Accepted applicants who would like to defer their acceptance to a later semester must submit a written request to the Admission Office. The Admission Office will defer your acceptance ONE time only for up to one year. There is an additional non-refundable $200 deposit required to defer your admission which will be subtracted from your tuition bill when you enroll.
If you are not admitted to the program to which you applied, you may ask (through a letter submitted to the Office of Graduate Admission) to defer your application to the following semester. If you choose to defer your application after being denied, you will be asked to provide additional information. NO deferrals are allowed for the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology degree program.
* Note: The Psychology Department Admission Committee will competitively consider Applicants to the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology. Applicants to this program should not expect a decision until the end of March.
