Jess Ferreira, a junior shortstop/pitcher from Cambridge, Mass., was named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for her efforts in four Ram victories over the weekend. Ferreira, the reigning GNAC Player of the Year, batted .615 with a pair of triples, three home runs, 10 runs scored and 12 RBI on the week, including a pair of homers and five RBI in a 17-1, 16-1 sweep at Johnson & Wales. Ferreira rapped out five hits, including a triple and homer, and drove in five runs in a 6-2, 11-2 sweep of Mount Ida, as she posted 21 total bases, a 1.615 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage for the week. On the mound, Ferreira was 2-0 with an 0.58 ERA in two starts, allowing one earned run and fanning 11 in 12 innings of work.
