John Samander

John Samander, a freshman from Curacao, Netherlands, was named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week for his efforts in three Suffolk matches last week.  Samander went a combined 5-0 in singles and doubles play for the Rams, including straight set singles victories in triumphs over Albertus Magnus (9-0) and Norwich (7-2) as well as in a 5-4 setback at Wentworth.  Samander also notched a pair of doubles wins in league play on the week.
