Erin Pagel, a junior softball pitcher, and Matt Batchelder, a sophomore baseball infielder, were named first team District I Academic All-America in the College Division.
Pagel, a Biology major, has a 3.66 GPA. Suffolk had a 21-15 overall record in softball and Pagel was 12-9 on the mound. She finished with a 1.2 ERA with 136 strikeouts and one save. Pagel, from Braintree, MA, also batted .360 and ranks in the NCAA with 49 stolen bases. Softball

Junior Tamayo Manzanillo was selected to the first team NEIBA Division III All-New England team as a designated hitter. He hit .367 for the year and had a slugging percentage of .798. He ranks 8th in the NCAA for RBI this season with 1.55 per game, 54 on the season. He ranks 14th in home runs with 13 on the season.
Junior Mike Maguire was selected to the second team All-New England as an outfielder. He hit .399 for the season and ranks 5th in the NCAA for stolen bases with 0.97 per game. Maguire finished with 36 stolen bases this season.
Suffolk had three baseball players named to the All-GNAC first team and two players named to the second team. Infielder Matt Batchelder, outfielder Mike Maguire and designated hitter Tamayo Manzanillo were named first team All-GNAC.
Catcher Trevor Grimshaw and pitcher Rony Mercado were selected to the second-team All-GNAC.
Batchelder, a sophomore from Stoughton, MA, hit .367 for the year, .389 in conference play. Maguire, a junior from Medford, MA, hit .399 on the season and .468 in conference games. Manzanillo, a junior from Dorchester, MA, hit .367 on the season and .355 in conference games.
Grimshaw, a sophomore from Macungie, PA, hit .640 in conference games and .436 overall. Mercado, a sophomore from Boston, MA, had a 5-0 overall record and a 2. 52 ERA. He was 3-0 in conference games with a 1.35 ERA.
Suffolk softball players Erin Pagel and Lynn Bennett were named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Conference first team for 2004. Pagel was selected as a pitcher and Bennett was selected as a designated hitter.

Bennett, a sophomore from Ashley Falls, MA, finished with an overall batting average of .324. She had 22 hits, scored 12 runs and had 15 RBI. Sophomore Angela Belanger, from Poland Spring, ME, was selected to the GNAC second team as an infielder. She hit .359 for the season.
Suffolk junior forward Kevin Coakley was named honorable mention All-ECAC for the 2003-04 hockey season. Coakley helped Suffolk to a 10-12-2 overall record. Coakley led Suffolk in scoring with 10 goals and nine assists in 16 conference games for 19 points. He finished with 12 goals overall and 17 assists for 29 points in all games.
Senior forward Eric Jenkins was named to the All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference second-team. He led Suffolk to a 13-13 record overall and finished with an 11.5 points per game average. He also averaged five rebounds per game and was named to the GNAC Honor Roll three times during the season.
Junior forward Allison Fox was named to the All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference second team. She led Suffolk to a 19-7 record overall and finished with an 11.5 points per game average. She also averaged 7.6 rebounds per game on the season and was named Player of the Week for the GNAC in Janary.
Suffolk University had four players, Bryan Courtney, Zach Courts, Justin Bevis and Kevin Rogers, named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-League team. Senior defender Bryan Courtney was named to the second team. Courtney, from Springfield, MA, had 10 points this season, two goals and six assists while playing defense. Junior Zach Courts, from Chelsea, VT, was also named to the second team as a midfielder.
Sophomore Justin Bevis was selected second team at forward. Bevis was Suffolk’s leading scorer with 17 points in conference games. Bevis, from Monroe, CT, finished with seven goals and three assists in the GNAC. Freshman Kevin Rogers was selected second team as a forward. Rogers, from Monroe, CT, was Suffolk’s second leading scorer with 15 points in conference, six goals and three assists.
Two Suffolk women’s volleyball players were selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-League team. Senior middle hitter Jennifer Harrington was selected first-team all-conference. Harrington, from Cambridge, MA, was a team captain this season and led Suffolk in several hitting statistical categories. Senior middle hitter Erin McMenimen was named to the third-team All-GNAC. McMenimen, from Stoneham, MA, was a team captain and helped Suffolk to a 17-12 overall record.
