You’re fascinated by business. Especially today, when events in one part of the world affect everywhere else within hours.
So in designing our Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) curriculum, we asked ourselves, “What would a program that prepares students for the challenges of 21st century business look like?”
And then we built one, from the foundation up.
At the Business School, you’ll learn the management skills you need to succeed in today’s worldwide marketplace. And you’ll graduate with an in-depth command of at least one functional business area: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, public administration, management, or information systems. Or you may also choose to double major in two functional areas like finance and marketing for additional specialization.
If you are fascinated by business, culture, and language, then the Global Business major is for you! Global Business majors receive a deeper global business knowledge and also specialize in one functional business area.
You’ll begin taking business courses your freshman year, to connect you with our faculty and immediately acquaint you with all the Business School’s departments.
But you’ll study the liberal arts as well, with a strong emphasis on written and oral communication. You’ll build an online e-portfolio. You’ll take part in unique cohort experiences. You might experience business in another country through a Global Travel Seminar or by studying abroad. You’ll have opportunities for internships and community service projects and to join myriad student organizations. At the Sawyer Business School, you are encouraged to explore. And you’ll document all of it in your electronic portfolio.
Your courses and co-curricular experiences have been designed around five key areas (called "LINKS") with themes woven throughout (teamwork, ethics and social responsibility, globalization and diversity) at the Business School five broad, integrated themes:
1. Leadership
2. Innovation
3. Networking
4. Knowledge and Life Long Learning
5. Service
The Sawyer Business School is among fewer than 10% of business schools in the world that have both business and accounting accreditation from AACSB International– the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, and is among fewer than one third of US business schools to have achieved business and accounting accreditation from AACSB.
Imagine what a Suffolk education could mean for you.
