All courses are taught by Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School faculty.
In the fall and spring semesters, classes meet once per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:45 pm. There are some Saturday morning classes.
There are two intensive summer sessions: classes meet two evenings per week on Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday from 6:00 to 8:45 pm for seven weeks.
You can typically complete your entire Suffolk MBA degree in North Andover, based on a rotating schedule of core and elective courses, within three years. Alternatively, you have five years to complete the degree. As a Suffolk MBA student in North Andover you also have the flexibility to combine taking core or elective courses in North Andover with courses offered in Boston or online to help you meet your degree completion goals.
One of the first courses you’ll take in the Suffolk MBA is the 1-credit introductory course, Effective Career Planning. This is the only time you will be required to come to Boston.
The course meets one weekend at the beginning of the semester: Friday from 3:30 to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. The course has one follow-up session in Boston several weeks later on a Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 pm where you will meet with an executive coach to discuss career strategy and the art of networking. At the close of the session, you’ll join all currently registered MBAs, faculty, deans, and alumni at the bi-annual Dean’s MBA Networking Reception. North Andover students give the course their highest praise as an excellent way to focus on their career path from day one in their MBA.
As a Suffolk MBA student in North Andover, you can also register for classes at our main campus in Boston, and at our other off site locations in Franklin, and West Barnstable. Many students find that intensive advanced electives, for example Conflict and Negotiation, offered in a four-full-day Friday-Saturday, Friday-Saturday format, are popular and worth the commute.
As a part-time student, you have the option of registering for four or five Suffolk MBA Online classes. Highly interactive with a required 90-minute live chat, taught by Suffolk’s business faculty with expertise in e-learning, online courses translate to added flexibility and a broader menu of courses available to you in any given semester.
