The first New Product Innovation Competition and Awards Ceremony was held on November 10, 2006. Representatives from Motorola Labs, Silicon Valley Bank, Merrill Lynch, Netezza Corporation, and AmeriVault Corporation judged the student and alumni entries.

Winners include: 

1st Prize: $3,500

Product: EMBA 900 Chair, a portable, multi-purpose deck chair with front tray
Innovators: Ed Cunnally, Kevin Morris, Joanna Trainor, Emily Bugbee (all current Executive MBA students)

2nd Prize: $1,000

Product: CTM (Close to Me), alerts parents when their child has moved beyond a pre-set space
Innovators: Lisa Hachey, Tom Santos, Jim Landary, Charu Deodas, Wallace French (all Executive MBA alumni)

3rd Prize: $500

Product: Insulin Voager, a portable refrigeration system for diabetics
Innovators: Lorenzo Petruzesiello, Marie Texier, Isa Perez, Erik Rayner (all Global MBA alumni)
