Admission Requirements for the MHA

Decisions for admission to the MHA program are not based on a single factor. Rather, the applicant’s overall profile is considered. Criteria include the following:

  • Prior academic performance.
  • Related work, professional or volunteer experience.
  • Personal statement.
  • Recommendations (professional and/or academic).
  • Standardized test scores are helpful in the admission decision; however, they are not required for all applicants.
  • Standardized test scores (GMAT or GRE), taken within the previous 5 years, are required of applicants with fewer than 3 years of relevant work or professional or volunteer experience, or less than a 2.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in an undergraduate degree.
  • Personal interview, if requested.

Financial Aid

There are three main sources of financial aid available to students in the Suffolk MHA – the federal government, the University, and private sources.

  • Federal programs include low-interest loans and student employment programs for US citizens.
  • Suffolk University and private agencies/organizations award scholarships, grants, and loans to students in need.
  • International students are eligible for campus employment programs.
  • International students are not eligible for federal aid from the US government.
