Tenure-Track position in Information Systems and Operations Management

Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School in Boston invites applications for tenure-track positions in the Information Systems and Operations Management Department.  The Sawyer Business School’s mission emphasizes globalization and innovation, and seeks applicants that can help achieve this mission.  Several faculty members will be attending various conferences DSI, INFORMS and ICIS.  Professor Beverly Kahn and Professor Peter Tarasewich will be attending the AMCIS conference in August 2008.  Interviews will be conducted at these conferences.  Please submit a curriculum vita, teaching evaluations, references and an appropriate paper to OM_recruiting@suffolk.edu (operations management positions) or IS_recruiting@suffolk.edu (information systmes positions). Only candidates with qualifications compatible with our needs will be contacted for an interview.  Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses across all areas of the department (i.e., information systems and operations management).

The standard teaching load is 5 semester courses per academic year reduced to 4 courses for the initial year.  Faculty teach a combination of undergraduate/graduate, day/evening courses, as well as, conduction research in the application of operations management.  Research productivity is expected to be commensurate with an AACSB accredited institution.


Operations Management Positions

We are seeking faculty member who can teach operations management and quantitative analysis.  Applicants should have a problem-solving approach to research rather than an algorithmic approach.  The position requires completion of a Ph.D. in OM or related area.  OM will experience growth in both faculty and programs over the next few years.  Anticipated stating date is September 2009 but the positions could start as early as January 2009.  Additionally, there is an opportunity for a visiting faculty member beginning January 2009.

Information Systems Positions

We are seeking an assistand professor who can teach information systems.  The position requires completion of a Ph.D. in IS or related area.  Anticipated starting date for a tenure-track position is September 2009.  Additionally, there is an opportunity for a visiting faculty position for one semester beginning January 2009.

The Sawyer Business School, was established in 1937 and serves both undergraduate and graduate students in management and public administration.  The Sawyer Business School is accredited by AACSB International, NASPAA, and offers BSBA, MS, MPA, MBA, Executive MBA, Online MBA, and Global MBA to a diverse student population.  The Information Systems and Operations Management Department offers a major in information systems and minors in both information systems and eCommerce.
