Julie Schniewind

Julie Schniewind is director of Corporate Learning Initiatives in the Institute for Executive Education and Lifelong Learning of the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University. She has been leading corporate outreach activity at Suffolk since 2003.

Schniewind gained her management experience in the fields of healthcare, politics, and investment management. In 1981, she formed PRN Inc., where she worked with companies in the public and private sectors as a project leader, consultant, trainer, mentor, and coach, specializing in leadership development, change leadership, and business process redesign.

Her work as a consultant in leadership development began with the Forum Corp., where she was product Manager for the Life Paths program, helping redeploy managers. Large-scale projects include four years at General Motors facilitating the Leadership Now program, coaching in the Bank Boston Advanced Leadership Program, facilitating a five-day Advanced Management Program for Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, and the design and delivery of A Course in Self Management for Harvard Community Health Plan.

In business process redesign, major clients included Delta Dental Plan, Cigna Insurance, and the Boston Medical Center. Internationally, Ms. Schniewind has consulted to the World Bank, the Agency for International Development, and the UNDP on the uses of computer-based technologies for education and training, and worked with the US Dept. of Defense in St. Petersburg, Russia. Since 1997, she has worked with women leaders in business and healthcare in South Africa, and most recently in Istanbul, Turkey.

Julie earned her master’s degree in Education, majoring in adult development and group leadership, from Boston University.
