IB 550 TC 1 - Summer I, 2008 Semester
Travel Component - June 12-24, 2008
In the Summer of 2008, Beijing will be at the center of the world’s attention. As host of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, Beijing’s ancient landmarks and fantastic, modern buildings will be on dazzling display as the backdrop for the athletic competition. These games will be about much more than athletics however, as they are also seen as a symbolic announcement of China’s stronger role as a global economic and political power.
By joining Professor Lin Guo in Beijing for 11 days in June 2008, you will have the opportunity to experience pre-Olympic Beijing first hand and to meet with business leaders who will explain the reality of China’s rapid growth and what it means for the world. You’ll also have the opportunity to experience some unforgettable cultural experiences, such as visiting the Great Wall, touring the Forbidden City, and enjoying many Chinese arts and delicacies.
