Megan Donnachie, part-time Global MBA

Consulting Project in Greece, Summer 2009

Megan is a successful business professional. Over the summer she spent two weeks at the Agionissi Resort on Greece’s Amoliani Island. But she was not on vacation, she was earning six credits toward her Global MBA degree.

Rather than taking evening classes, Megan decided to design and conduct a global consulting project.  Unable to take an extensive leave from her job as Assistant Vice President at Scottish Developmnet International, she opted for a project based on an intensive two-week residency at a global company outside the U.S. When the Global MBA Office identified the Agionissi Resort in Greece as a possible client, she quickly agreed.

Megan conducted pre-travel research including an analysis of the Greek tourism industry. She set primary source work goals and parameters for the 2-week residency at the Agionissi. “The resort was truly spectacular and one of a kind. I learned first-hand how the resort catered to an upscale clientele. My project was focused on a marketing plan to grow their group travel business.”
