To become licensed as a CPA in Massachusetts, you need to pass the CPA exam and have a Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business. This would qualify you for a “non-reporting” license, which means you would not be able to sign audit and other opinions.
To obtain a full license, you need a minimum of 1,000 hours of experience in the “attest” function (generally, working on the audit side of a public accounting firm).
For more information on requirements for the CPA exam in Massachusetts, visit the MSCPA’s website.
To take the CPA exam, you must make arrangements through the Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy (the professional licensing body in Massachusetts).
More information on the CPA exam can be found at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
