The Center for Innovation and Change Leadership is hosting the first Global Leadership Innovation and Collaboration Award on November 2, 2009 and is honoring SRI, Inc, a global organization in innovation and its CEO, Dr. Curtis Carlson, co-author of Innovation: The Five Disciplines for Creating What Customers Want.
SRI’s world famous innovation practice posits five disciplines essential to successful innovation – collaboration being an underlying theme among them. The disciplines are: Important vs. Interesting, Value Creation, Champions, Innovation Teams, and Organizational Alignment. Dr. Carlson will highlight these five disciplines in remarks and be available to answer questions from all in attendance.
As part of our award activities, we are also introducing you to four business leaders who will, though discussion of collaboration and innovations in their own organizations, articulate how these disciplines have contributed to their success.
In today’s globally competitive marketplace successful innovation requires the integration of diverse resources and expertise seldom found within the confines of a single organization. Innovation through collaboration can both increase the speed and quality of innovation as well as reduce its costs and risks to each of the collaborating participants in the innovation enterprise.
The Center for Innovation and Change Leadership is dedicated to helping people and organizations embrace innovation and change through collaboration. The Global Leadership in Innovation and Collaboration Award is an annual event that recognizes organizations that are global leaders in innovation and collaboration.
As part of the award day activities, the award recipient shares their best practices with faculty, students, alumni and anyone concerned with how innovation and collaborative best practices may help them or their organizations create value for themselves and their customers or clientele.
