Majors & Minors

Our undergraduate management major provides a generalist degree with the goal of preparing students to be successful employees and entry-level managers of people and processes. Our courses provide special emphasis on preparing our students for the ethical dimension of management, and management in a diverse workplace. We also prioritize the business challenges of a global economy, and the acquisition of a range of interpersonal skills, to boost students’ ability to communicate, contribute, and manage in a contemporary organization.

Our major in entrepreneurial studies is designed to prepare students to function effectively within a variety of entrepreneurial settings, including start-up ventures, small businesses, and larger but entrepreneurial domestic and international firms. Students learn about the managerial processes relevant to these firms. They write and orally present business plans, learn to work effectively with others as leaders and team members, conduct organizational assessments, and prepare oral and written reports to business clients. These skills and related knowledge are learned through both academic coursework and field project assignments with real world companies, under the supervision of practicing entrepreneurs.

Our Global Business program is designed to help you combine a major in International Business with one functional area of business such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, information systems, entrepreneurship, or even public management. Thus, the program gives you a double major!
