Suffolk University Law School and the Sawyer Business School offer a joint program in law and business management that results in combined JD/MBA degrees after four years of full-time study or five years of part-time study.
Degrees will be awarded when all degree requirements for both programs are fulfilled.

Application Process
- The JD/MBA may be completed part-time or full-time.
- You must complete two separate applications and be admitted by both the Law School and the MBA
- If accepted to the JD/MBA, the LSAT is substituted for the GMAT score

Application and Entry Points for Admission to the JD/MBA
Apply simultaneously to the Law School and MBA and be accepted to the JD/MBA dual degree:
- Take Law courses only in year one. Take MBA courses only or in tandem with Law courses in year two. Combine Law and MBA courses for the remaining time.
OR
- Take MBA courses only in year one. Take Law courses only in year two. Combine Law and MBA courses for the remaining time.
If you are already a Suffolk Law student:
- Apply to the MBA portion of the JD/MBA dual degree through the Graduate Admission Office, indicating you are already in the Suffolk Law program
- If admitted , take MBA courses only for one year following admission to the JD/MBA OR combine Law and MBA courses until you complete the two degrees
If you are already a Suffolk MBA student:
- Apply to the Law School for the JD/MBA, indicating you are already in the Suffolk MBA Program
- You will need to submit an LSAT score
- If admitted, take Law courses only in your first year of Law School and combine law and MBA courses thereafter
Locations
The MBA portion of the JD/MBA can be completed at our main campus in Boston; at our off site location in North Andover and fully online. The JD must however, be completed exclusively on campus in Boston.
