Participants in PAD 840 have the opportunity to study politics and public policy, and gain new perspectives on a variety of topics, including health care, housing, social welfare, and community development programs.
All Suffolk MPA students and alumni are invited to take part in this invaluable experience. Students in other graduate programs can join us on a first come, first serve basis.
PAD 840 is a 3-credit MPA class. Students can take a total of six PAD 840 credits (i.e. register for both Puerto Rico and Ireland). The PAD 840 Puerto Rico course is offered in the Spring semester and the PAD 840 Ireland course is offered in the Summer 2 semester.
Over Spring Break students registered in the PAD 840: Puerto Rico seminar visit government departments, cultural landmarks, and tour the Bacardi Distillery. Lectures with key public and private officials and opportunities to interview and socialize with officials are also offered.
