The Global Leadership in Innovation and Collaboration (GLIC) Award was developed by the Center for Innovation & Change Leadership (CICL) to recognize an organization that fosters and inspires innovation and collaboration.
The award is just one of several CICL initiatives to integrate best practices of innovation and collaboration within the research, teaching, and service missions of CICL and Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School.
This year, the Center is honored Jonathan Klein, CEO and cofounder of GettyImages. GettyImages is a leading creator and distributor of still imagery, footage, music and premium content, offering the best in news, sport and entertainment, and archival imagery.
Klein launched the company in 1995 with Mark Getty and built Getty Images from an analog film-based agency, serving the needs of photographic artists, to a corporate empire, spanning the globe and absorbing over half of the world’s market share in the commercial media industry.
The company targets four main markets: advertising and graphic design firms; editorial organizations, such as newspapers, magazines, and online publishers; corporate communications departments; and film and broadcast producers.
From a pioneer in digital media to a global leader, GettyImages and Klein have led the way in building a new and growing industry based in internet commerce.
