Professional Experience

Whalen served as the treasurer and director of Boston Metal Finishing Inc. for 13 years, where he was responsible for financial and managerial accounting systems operations, maintaining banking relationships, and tax reporting in a small business environment. He spent two years as a tax associate at Keegan, Werlin, & Pabian, P.C. He has also spent more than 23 years working in the City of Boston Treasury Department, where he held various positions, including manager for accounting and special assessments.
