Directed Study & Independent Study

An independent study allows you to research and study an area of interest that is not covered by Suffolk courses as an elective option.

The independent/directed study can completed for one to three credits. You must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and the approval of a faculty member, department chair, and an academic dean. Before applying for an independent/directed study, always consult with your graduate program or faculty advisor.

Students interested in pursuing an independent/directed study for credit, should download and complete the Independent/Directed Study Agreement and Proposal Form [PDF].
