The 1913 Celebration, sponsored by the Alumni Association, the Office of Diversity Services and the Office of International Student Services is a recognition ceremony for graduating LGBTQ students, international students, and students of color.
1913 is the year Suffolk graduated its first "diverse" student. Thaddeus Alexander Kitchener, from Kingston, Jamaica is thought to be Suffolk's first Black graduate. Since that time, Suffolk has graduated many diverse students from various backgrounds, cultures, countries of origin, genders, and sexual orientations. This and many other can be found in our university archives. Browse the collection: http://www2.suffolk.edu/moakley/collections.html.
