• Faculty Involvement

Faculty support and involvement with Unity Week is crucial to its success and growth each year. You can contribute to Unity Week by incorporating one or both of the following options in your spring curriculum.

Open Class

Devote an open class session during Unity Week to discuss the issues of culture, intercultural understanding, and/or diversity. Open this class to the larger campus community. The open classes will be published in the Unity Week publicity materials (e.g., calendar, brochure, passport program packets, and our website).

Example Open Classes:

  • PSY 321. Introduction to Counseling: Cross-cultural Counseling with Counseling Interns Shannon Korell, Melissa Morgan and Sunny Toews
  • SSOM 550. Cultural Environment of Business - Introduction to Eastern Religions: Taoism with The Reverend Amy L. Fisher
  • SOC 222. Women Struggle in Film with Professor Amy Agigian

Please submit the specifics of your open-class here by February 15.

Passport Program

Participate in the Passport Program. Recommend programs to your students in terms of course relevance and educational content. We will deliver the passports and a passport key to your mailbox the week before spring break.

Students will be responsible for getting their passports stamped at the events to prove their attendance. Some faculty have given students credit for simple attendance while others have required the students to write short papers, and/or engage in class discussions about their experiences. You decide how you want to use the program.

Please submit your request for passports here by February 29.
