Program Council is the dynamic programming team that brings Suffolk University undergraduate students events like the Holiday Ball at the Park Plaza, Red Sox/Blue Man Group tickets, Temple Street Fair, Comedic Acts, and Relaxation Days, just to name a few.
Program Council has also collaborate with numerous student organizations and campus departments to ensure that Suffolk’s student body enjoy a variety of social and educational programs designed to foster a sense of community among our vastly diverse student body.
Special projects in which Program Council has played an instrumental role include the Unity Week Showcase, and the Centennial Fair and Concert during the 2007-08 academic year.
Currently, there are seven leadership positions available: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Campus-Life Chair, Entertainment Chair, and Public Relations Chair.

HUB Managers play an integral role in the success of the Office of Student Activities & Service Learning by serving as information contacts between faculty, staff, families and departments. HUB Managers are actively involved in assisting the entire community with Suffolk related questions, directions, ticket sales and much more.
HUB Managers participate in an extensive training program that begins the last week of August for the fall semester, the week before classes commence in the spring and continues with weekly meetings year round. Training helps prepare HUB Managers for various programs & events, ticket sales and happenings throughout the academic year. Individuals are trained in and expected to be knowledgeable about institutional information, group dynamics, and fiscal responsibility.
HUB Managers are awarded $4,000 for the academic year. $2,235 is worked as employment and is paid throughout the year on a bi-weekly basis, contingent on hours worked. Students are required to work a total of 300 hours during the academic year. The remaining $1,765 is posted on your college account as a grant put toward tuition.

Orientation Leaders (OLs) play an integral role in the success of the Suffolk University Orientation program and are recognized leaders throughout the Suffolk University Community. They serve as group leaders, contacts between various departments, registration assistants, peer educators, and positive role models. Orientation Leaders are actively involved in assisting all new students with their transition to Suffolk, whether it be from high school, the work force, the military, or another institution of higher education.
Orientation Leaders participate in an extensive training program that begins in the latter half of the spring semester and continues year round to prepare for various programs throughout the academic year. They are trained in and expected to be knowledgeable about institutional information, group dynamics, and student development issues.
Orientation Leaders receive a total stipend of $1100 to be paid biweekly during the orientation program, $850 for the June programs and $250 for the August/September programs. OLs also receive room and board in residence hall at 150 Tremont Street (linens not supplied) during orientation programs.
As an SU101 Teaching Assistant, you will be assigned to an SU101 course section and paired with a faculty/staff instructor. Your main function will be to provide a peer’s perspective on being successful at Suffolk. The intention behind creating TA positions for this course is to foster a unique opportunity for first-year students to connect with an upper-class student for ongoing advice and support.
SU101 TAs receive a total financial award of $1000 ($600 paid bi-weekly throughout the Fall 2008 semester and $400 credited to your student account in Spring 2009 semester upon successful completion of SU101 Teaching Assistant duties)
There are five (5) positons available for the 2008-2009 academic year including Editor in Chief of the Suffolk Journal (student newspaper), General Manager of WSUB Productions (TV/Film Club), General Manager of Suffolk Free Radio (Internet broadcast radio station), Editor in Chief of Venture Literary Magazine (Literary/Arts magazine) and Editor in Chief of the Beacon Yearbook.
All open positions require an interview with the Student Media Selection committee chaired by the Dean of Students. The committee also includes the Director of Student Activities, faculty advisors and current Editor in Chief of respective organizations as well as Student Government Association members. These positions are non-paid volunteer positions.
Student publications, the student broadcasting system and the student press are all valuable aids in establishing and maintain an atmosphere of free and responsible discussion and of intellectual exploration on campus. They are a means of bringing student concern to the attention of the faculty and the institutional authorities and of formulating student opinion on various issues of the campus and the world at large.

Provides support to faculty in applying service learning components into their courses. The program is beneficial for both faculty and students by making service learning accessible for even the busiest faculty member and providing leadership and educational opportunities for Suffolk students.
Students receive a $300 stipend based on 10 hours of work per week at $8 an hour (only for work-study eligible students may apply for these positions)
Service Scholars support S.O.U.L.S. Community Service Center and Service Learning Center by acting as a community liaison to two community based organizations as well as supporting the program in one of these three areas; Co-curricular Service Student Outreach, Center Publications or Classroom Coordination and Outreach
Each award is $5,000 broken down as a $3000 scholarship and $2000 employment award.
