The 2013/2014 Room Selection / Lottery Process is open to all current on campus freshment (non-transfer) students. The process requires an overall deposit of $1,000 which is paid in two installments. Please review the Room Selection Schedule and the Information Sheet
Mon., Feb. 19–Wed., March 20
The initial $500 deposit is due by 5 p.m. on March 20, with no exceptions. Deposits will only be accepted from current on-campus freshmen. Transfer students are not eligible. Payments must be in the form of a check, money order or credit / debit card; no cash will be accepted. A receipt will be given or emailed to you.
The deposit will be accepted:
- At the Department of Residence Life and Housing (RLH) Central Office located at 73 Tremont Street, 7th floor, Monday to Friday 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
- By calling our office at 617.305.2500 ext. 0 to pay by credit card (please do not leave credit card information in a voicemail message)
- By mailing a check to Residence Life and Housing, Suffolk University, 73 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02108.
If you make a deposit and do not get a lottery number and do not wish to be on Housing Stand By, your deposit will be credited to your student account.
Mon., Feb. 25
Available rooms will be posted in the Residence Life offices of each residence hall.
Fri., March 15
Spring tuition deferred payment due date. All students who make a deposit for lottery must have an up-to-date student account by this date. On March 20, RLH will review all lottery participants’ student accounts. Anyone who is not in proper standing with the University will not be able to participate in the room selection process and your initial $500 deposit will be credited to your student account.
Wed., March 20
Information regarding the Housing Waitlist will be available on the Residence Life website.
Fri., March 22
Lottery numbers will be generated randomly for all students who submit a $500 deposit by March 20, 2013. Numbers will be posted in each residence hall by the Residence Life Office. Residence Life will email participants their lottery number as well with instructions for next steps.
Students who are not assigned a lottery number will be placed on the Housing Stand-By List. ]

All students with a lottery number must be registered as a full-time student for Fall 2013 classes. If you are not registered, you will lose your lottery number. There will be no exceptions.

Room Selection Night
Group Room Selection: 4-5:30 p.m., basement of 150 Tremont
Open Room Selection: 6-7:30 p.m., basement of 150 Tremont
Fri., Apr. 12
Any student who did not pick a space on Apr. 9 will have until 2 p.m. on Fri., Apr. 12, to pick their space. A student may do this by visiting the Central RLH office at 73 Tremont Street, 7th Floor, on Wed., Apr. 10, and Thu., Apr. 11, between 8:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. and on Fri., Apr. 12, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Wed., Apr. 17
Fall 2013 Housing Wait List begins at noon. No deposit is required.
Tues., Apr. 16–Fri., May 3
Final $500 deposit due. This deposit will be accepted only if your student account is up-to-date. Your full $1,000 deposit will show as a credit on your Fall 2013 bill. Failure to make this payment will result in the forfeiture of your on-campus space for Fall 2013, effective on May 3, 2013.
