Become a Leader and Voice Your Ideas

Become a Project Leader

Each of our projects has one person who leads the group to the site, communicates with the people in charge when on-site, and helps to get the word out about our events. We are always seeking new project leaders at the onset of each academic year; Contact us at souls@suffolk.edu to find out more.  Project Leader Application

Work for Us

S.O.U.L.S. has a staff of 10-12 work-study students every semester, assisting us with the programs that we offer. Stop by S.O.U.L.S. in Donahue 209 to pick up an application. Community 101: First Year Service Month

Our annual beginning of the year kick-off for first-year students! Join us for a month full of service opportunities.  See a complete listing of events on SUconnect.

Supper Clubs

The Cathedral of St. Paul (Mondays), The Paulist Center (Wednesdays), and the Church of the Advent (every other Tuesday) provide meals to homeless and needy persons through their Supper Clubs. An average of 5-10 students can be found each week assisting with meal preparation or serving warm food to the hundreds of guests each night.

Service Day

Join us on April 8, 2011 for our 14th annual Campus-Wide Service Day and luncheon. The S.O.U.L.S. Center is currently accepting registrations.

Hunger and Homelessness Month

November is Hunger and Homelessness Month, and S.O.U.L.S. will have many events focusing on service for the needy and education on the issues. In addition to our month-long Canned Food and Warm Clothing Drives, we will be planning panel discussions and speakers, volunteer opportunities, workshops, and other activities. Please join us to help the needy of Boston prepare for the winter. Please see SUconnect for a complete list of events.

Prison Book Program

Join fellow Suffolk students to volunteer your time to help brighten the life of a prison. Travel to the Prison Book Site in Quincy and read requests for reading material from prisoners.

Connections to College

Interested in exposing middle school youth to college life? Suffolk University is collaborating with Bird Street Community Center to help youth explore college life and the campus first-hand. For more information contact Kevin Travers.

Fall and Spring Blood Drives

Blood Drives are held twice a year, in October and April.

Food for Thought

Food for Thought is a monthly discussion group focused on social issues. Join us for lunch and to share insights and meaningful conversation about current topics.   For more information stop by the S.O.U.L.S. office in D209 or contact Antjelina Newman.
