Fall 2005 Service Learning Mini-Grant (.doc file)
In an effort to increase the number of courses being offered at Suffolk University with a service-learning component, Service Learning Mini Grants are being offered to faculty to develop service-learning courses. The purpose of these course development grants is to expand the number of courses offered at Suffolk University that incorporate service-learning as a teaching pedagogy. Service Scholar Application (.doc file)
Suffolk University is committed to encouraging and rewarding community service. The S.O.U.L.S. Community Service Center Scholarships program is evidence of that commitment. Each year, 3 students are selected for this program and are required to work 300 hours to support university sponsored service programs. Recipients are selected by a committee on the basis of community service involvement and merit. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8. Only full-time sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled at Suffolk University Boston full-time at least one year prior, may apply. Award amount is $4000 per academic year, of which $1765 is posted as a grant to the student’s tuition account; and $2235 is awarded as employment, paid on a bi-weekly basis for hours worked.
