The Office of Health and Wellness Services offers travel appointments!

If you are planning foreign travel you may request consultation, immunizations and/or medications for the planned travel from our office. We can provide consultation and guidance at no charge. However, any required or recommended vaccines are not covered by health insurance and you are expected to pay for these at the time of your visit. There are some vaccines which we cannot provide in our office (such as Yellow Fever). If needed, we will refer you to a local travel clinic for this. Please remember that most health insurances do not pay for this service and you will be responsible for any charges incurred.

Call 617-573-8260 to make an appointment with one of our clinicians at least 6 weeks before you travel and follow these instructions:

1. Research the country(s) you will be visiting by going to CDC website: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/. Print and review all relevant materials and bring them to your appointment.

2. Download and complete our Foreign Travel Questionnaire.

3. Schedule a 60 minute visit with a clinician.

4. If needed, you may also be referred to the Travel Medicine Clinic at Tufts Medical Center. Their website has contact information and downloadable forms at:

http://www.tuftsmedicalcenter.org/OurServices/InfectiousDiseases/default?Page=2#travelers35. Please review your health insurance benefits for coverage of these services and vaccines. Many insurance plans, including the current Suffolk SHIP, do not cover these services.
