Driving and Move-In Instructions
(Please note that directions are based on most recent information based on the opening of the 93N tunnel and construction changes to 93S). From the North: Take the Expressway I-93 South to the Government Center/Haymarket exit. At the bottom of the ramp, go straight up the hill and turn left onto Cambridge Street. Take your first right onto Somerset St. At the top of the hill, follow the instructions of the staff.
From the South: Take Interstate 95N to Interstate 93N to Boston. Enter the new 93N tunnel. Take exit 23 (Government Center/Fanueil Hall) and stay in the left lane. At the light, take a left onto North Street. At the second set of lights, take a left onto Congress Street. At the next light, take a right onto State Street. State Street turns into Court Street. At the fork, take a left onto Cambridge/Tremont Street. Get in the right lane and take a right at the first set of lights onto Beacon St. Take the first right onto Somerset St. The Residence Hall at 10 Somerset is ½ way down the block.
From the West: Take the Mass Pike/I-90 East to the Expressway/I-93 North. Enter the new 93N tunnel. Take exit 23 (Government Center/Fanueil Hall) and stay in the left lane. At the light, take a left onto North Street. At the second set of lights, take a left onto Congress Street. At the next light, take a right onto State Street. State Street turns into Court Street. At the fork, take a left onto Cambridge/Tremont Street. Get in the right lane and take a right at the first set of lights onto Beacon St. Take the first right onto Somerset St. The Residence Hall at 10 Somerset is ½ way down the block.
Please follow instructions of the staff on the road, etc.
For New students only: When you arrive, there will be lots of volunteers to help unload your car. You should come into the residence hall to complete any paperwork and while you are doing that, students will be helping to unload your car. Please have all containers labeled with your name and room number. A driver must stay with your car at all times and your car must be moved as soon as it is unloaded. Parking in front of the building is not permitted. (Sorry returners...you will need to rely on the help of family and friends!)
We will request a Boston Police detail for move-in day. It is possible that the BPD will not be able to fill our request. If this is the case, it will be imperative that you follow the instructions of the SUPD when you arrive.
Parking is not available at the residence hall OR in the parking lot designated for unloading. Please be courteous and respectful of those moving in after you. Please move your car to a local parking lot or garage. Some are identified on the reverse side of this sheet. Most lots/garages have a flat fee on weekend/holidays.

Turn left onto Kneeland Street( South Station will be on your right).Take the third right onto Lincoln Street. At light, go straight through light and take the left at next light onto Kingston Street. At stop sign, go straight. At end, take a left onto Chauncy Street. At the light, turn right onto Avenue de Lafayette. At end (light), take a right onto Washington Street and a quick LEFT onto West Street. The residence hall is at the end of West on the corner of Tremont. You will be directed when to pull up.
