Boston is home to three examination schools for grades 7-12 that admit students on a competitive basis. Students who hope to attend the Boston Latin Academy, Boston Latin School and the O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).
Suffolk collaborates with the Eliot K-8 School in the North End to offer a test preparation course to middle school students who plan to apply to Boston's examination schools. Suffolk tutors meet on a weekly basis with middle school students at the Eliot K-8 School to assist in preparing the students for the test. Students gain an understanding of the test format and types of questions to expect by reviewing material and completing practice questions for the verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, and mathematics achievement test sections.
If you are interested in helping middle school students prepare for the ISEE, please submit an application [PDF] to the Center for Community Engagement.
