Alumni Class Officers

As you prepare to become alumni of Suffolk University it is time to elect your Alumni Class Officers. The term of office is five years. Every five years, at reunion, classes shall hold new elections. The responsibility of the class officers is to perpetuate a bond of unity between your class, each other and Suffolk University.

Please review the officer descriptions below. If you would like to nominate yourself for a position please submit the form here. Nominations must be submitted by Tuesday, April 24, 2011. Elections will be held Monday, April 30 - Wednesday, May 2 at noon.

President
The class president is responsible for making sure that the other officers are fully engaged and for finding new officers if an officer resigns or is unable to fulfill his or her responsibilities.
The class president is also responsible to energize the executive committee to organize, in partnership with the alumni office, the class’ quinquennial reunion.
The class president is responsible for holding elections of new officers at reunion.

Vice President
The vice president is responsible for the duties of the President if and when the president is unable to perform his or her duties.
The vice president is responsible for supporting the goals and objectives of the executive committee (class cohesion, reunion, class notes, et cetera) and for creating informal opportunities for classmates to come together between reunions.

Class Correspondent
The class correspondent is an enormously important office. This person is responsible to maintain communication and class cohesion between reunion cycles. The class correspondent should be using social media, maintaining a class website, consistently seeking updates on classmates and celebrating classmate news (jobs, promotions, marriages, et cetera)

Reunion Chairperson(s)
The reunion chairpersons are responsible for building a reunion committee and, in partnership with alumni office, creating excitement for and executing quinquennial reunions. 

Class Agent
The class agent is responsible for class fundraising efforts in partnership with the annual fund.
