Fifteenth Annual Family Weekend
Celebrate the Spirit of Suffolk!
October 16- 18, 2009
Family members, students, staff, and faculty are all invited to join in as we honor the families and friends of Suffolk University. Enjoy a night aboard the Spirit of Boston harbor cruise ship, a Boston Duck Tour, a variety show, and other exciting campus events. A full schedule will be mailed to you in September.
TICKET POLICY
Pre-ordered tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of six tickets per family for each event. Please note that submitting the registration form by the deadline does not guarantee the availability of tickets for free events. Tickets will be available for pickup during check-in on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17. Refunds will only be granted in the case of a sold-out event. Tickets will not be available at the event location.

Check-In at the HUB Information Center
Sagan Lobby, Donahue Building, 41 Temple Street
Friday, October 16 from 12-8pm and Saturday, October 17 from 9am-6pm
Check-in is for all families attending Family Weekend. You will receive materials about the weekend’s events, pick up all tickets (including Fall Fest ’09 tickets), and get information about happenings around town.

- Fall Fest : Love Potion ‘09
C. Walsh Theater, 55 Temple Street
Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16th at 8:00pm, Saturday, October 17th at 2:30pm
Suffolk’s annual variety show. Fall Fest kicks off Family Weekend! Students, faculty and staff share the stage to celebrate Suffolk Spirit in this exciting musical extravaganza. Gala reception to follow (Friday night only.). Please arrive promptly to secure your seats at this popular event. (FREE tickets do not guarantee seating.)
- Duck Tours
$30 per person: Saturday, October 17th at 10am or Sunday, October 17th at 12:00pm
Boston’s most enjoyable tour is by not only land, but by water in the Charles River. Get a historical tour of the neighborhoods throughout the city while being transported around Boston in style!
- Silent Auction for Alternative Spring Break trip
Saturday October 17th in Archer 110 (Munce Conference Room) from 9am-5pm.
Suffolk University S.O.U.L.S. Office will be auctioning off gift certificates to some of the finest restuarants and hotels in the Boston area. Help support trips that will give back to communities that have been affected by social problems such as poverty, the environment and natural disasters.
- Taste of Boston
$10 per person: Saturday, October 17th at 12:30pm in the Donahue Café
Enjoy delicious samplings of food that represent the Boston area while mingling with other Suffolk students, staff and friends. (Note: this is not a full lunch.)
- Dessert Reception
Free, Saturday, October 17 at 1:30pm

Please join the Residence Life and Summer Programs staff for a dessert reception
following the Taste of Boston. Enjoy rich desserts and other goodies while having an
opportunity to interact with some Suffolk staff.
- Boston Area Walking Tours
Free, Saturday, October 17 at 10am– 12pm
Meet at the Donahue Cafeteria, 41 Temple Street
Join members of the Suffolk University History Department and the Suffolk University History Society as they lead you through historic Boston with its cobblestone streets and colonial-era neighborhoods. These tours are free with limited space. Please register early.
- Study Abroad Information Session
Free, Room 311, Donahue Building, 41 Temple Street: Saturday, October 17th 4:30 – 6:30pm

- Moonlight Dinner Cruise aboard the Spirit of Boston
6:30pm boarding time on Saturday, October 17th from World Trade Center Boston: Cruise is 7– 10pm
$40 per person.
Come celebrate the spirit of Suffolk aboard a Moonlight Dinner Cruise on the Spirit of Boston. This cruise includes dinner, dancing, and a night filled with music and fun!

8:30-10:30am on Sunday, October 18th at 150 Tremont Street Residence Hall
Join your student for breakfast or grab a quick bite before you wrap up your Family Weekend plans.
- Suffolk University students and families also get 10% discounted rates on bike tours of the city or bicycle rentals. You can purchase discounted tickets directly from ’Urban Adventure Tours.’ Mention that you heard about them from Suffolk University when registering online or over the phone for the discount.
