Resident Assistants (RAs) are integral members of the Residence Life and Housing (RLH) team. Their primary goal is to support create and maintain a thriving community in the residence halls.
To achieve this goal, RAs work as a team and serve as a role model to other students. Some of their key responsibilities are:
- Community Development
- Peer Advising
- Educational Programming
- Safety/ Policy Confrontation.
Being a RA provides students with the opportunity to develop valuable leadership and communication skills, shape Suffolk’s residential environment and make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Overview of the RA Application Process
Residence Life and Housing believes that the RA position is one of the most crucial student leadership positions within the University. Because of this, we ask that students complete a rigorous application process that includes submitting required materials and a group and individual interview.
