Overview of the Resident Aassistant Application Process

Residence Life & Housing believes that the Resident Assistant (RA) position is one of the most crucial student leadership positions within the University. Because of this, we ask that students complete a rigorous application process that includes submitting required materials and attending a group process interview and individual interview.

RAs are integral members of the Residence Life & Housing team. Their primary goal is to support, create and maintain a thriving community in the residence halls.

To achieve this goal, RAs work as a team and serve as role models for other students.  Some of their key responsibilities are:

  • Community Development
  • Peer Advising
  • Planning/Executing Educational Programming
  • Safety/ Policy Confrontation
