The Internal Disaster Plan is designed to coordinate the response of the University to an internal situation that may jeopardize the safety or well-being of employees, students, and visitors.

Internal disasters include:

  • Fire ( See University Fire Procedures)
  • Bomb Threat (See Bomb Threat Procedure
  • Loss of utility such as: electricity, water, air conditioning, heat, or gas
  • Flood – due to roof leakage, water line break, etc.
  • Structural damage
  •  Natural gas leak

Responses to Internal Disasters

  • Remove employees, students or visitors from areas of risk. Remove equipment if appropriate.
  • Alert essential personnel:

    • Contact the Office of Environmental Health & Safety at (617)573-8628
