• DIVERSITY/OUTREACH Fellowship

The Diversity/Outreach Fellowships are directed toward serving economically disadvantaged students, as well as economically and socially disadvantaged client populations.  The purpose of the fellowships is to enhance the diversity of the program, thereby enhancing its richness and vitality.

The fellowship provides full tuition remission for the first three years of graduate training.  Recipients will be required to update and confirm their continuing eligibility in order to continue to receive the fellowship before each succeeding year of their participation.

Eligibility:

Fellowships will be awarded on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Preference will be given to students from diverse racial and cultural groups that are underrepresented in the program or in the field of Clinical Psychology.

  • Preference will be given to students who express interest, through research or clinical activities, in the needs of diverse underserved and/or economically and socially disadvantaged groups and individuals.

  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate individual need for economic support determined on the basis of federal assessment guidelines.

Applying for the DIVERSITY/OUTREACH Fellowship?  Here are the four easy steps to submitting your application:
1.  File your FAFSA at the start of the new year!  Forms are available January 1st, and we ask that you submit yours by January 5, 2009. (We recommend estimating based on 2007 W2’s if you have not received your 2008 W2’s yet.)
2.  Download and complete the application form posted above.  You can either type onto this form, or print it and fill it out by hand.
3.  Write a short (500-word) essay detailing your eligibility for and interest in the fellowship. Read the description on the application for suggestions and tips!
4.  Send your application form and your essay by December 15, 2008 to Jessica Festa via snail mail at the Psychology Department, 41 Temple Street, Boston, MA 02114 or fax at (617) 367-2924.
