Originally from Wayland, MA, I earned my BA in Psychology from Haverford College. After graduating in 2004, I worked for two years as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry at Mass General Hospital.

At Suffolk, I have been fortunate to be part of the AME Lab and learn about and work on research focused on experiential avoidance, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I completed my master’s thesis on the relationship between social anxiety disorder and the desire to avoid unpleasant emotions.  My dissertation is focused on academic procrastination. I am exploring the role of experiential avoidance in this behavior and testing an intervention to help reduce it.

My clinical experience at Suffolk has included working with chronically and severely mentally ill adults in a day treatment program run by the May Institute, with veterans at the Bedford VA Hospital, and with college students at the Emerson College Counseling Center. In my clinical work, I really enjoy helping individuals identity their strengths and their values.

In my free time I love to spend time with friends and family, have long conversations, read, spend time outside, and attempt various art projects.
