Environmental Studies Major

The Environmental Studies major is composed of a set of basic core courses that are supplemented with at least one additional course from the natural sciences; the social sciences; and humanities, literature and philosophy.  Additional courses from each of these three areas relate to an aspect of the environment.  The total number of required credit hours for the major ranges from 44 to 76, depending on course choices. 

I. Basic Courses:

a. Environmental Studies-4 hours
b. Majors’ Environmental Science with laboratory-8 hours
c. Applied Statistics or Biostatistics-4 hours
d. Environmental Ethics-4 hours
e. Environmental Economics or Environmental Policy and Politics-4 hours
f. Environmental Studies Practicum-4 hours
g. Environmental Studies Capstone Course-4 hours
