The faculty who teach School Counseling students have a variety of experience and expertise. We teach small classes (15 students, on average) and strive to produce thoughtful, reflective practitioners.
Dr. Tim Poynton is the Program Director and an Assistant Professor, and has worked as a school counselor at the middle and high school levels. He teaches Introduction to School Counseling, Interpersonal Skills Laboratory, Research Methods, and Practicum Supervision to School Counseling students
Dr. Rose DiBiase, Associate Professor, teaches Child and Adolescent Development and Childhood Disorders to School Counseling students.
Dr. Glen Eskedal, Chair of the EHS Department and Professor, teaches Counseling Theories to School Counseling students.
Dr. David Medoff, Director of the Mental Health Counseling program and Associate Professor, teaches psychological testing to School Counseling students
Dr. David Shumaker, Assistant Professor, teaches Counseling Theories and Group Counseling to School Counseling Students
The remaining courses are taught by adjunct faculty who are practitioners with expertise in the field they are teaching.
