I am originally from India. I completed my BA (Hons) and MA in Psychology from Delhi University, India. I worked for a year in a management training and consulting organization, where I recognized my limited knowledge and training. This experience also convinced me to enter the field of clinical psychology and motivated me to apply for a doctoral program in the USA. My interest in neuropsychology was a gradual and steady process. It began with my master’s research in the area of attention and executive functions in children, under the guidance of Dr. Moes, and took its final footing during my pre-doctoral internship at Tewksbury State Hospital in MA. There I became seriously involved in testing and evaluations under the supervision of Dr. Edith Kaplan. This experience, along with the interactions with my advisors, led me to recognize the integrity and complexity of brain/body/mind dynamics. My eastern upbringing and my western education and exposure synthesized in my acknowledgement of this dynamics. This led to my dissertation research in the area of mindfulness meditation, attention and prefrontal, executive functions. With each passing moment, I appreciate my interest in neuropsychology, and acknowledge the unknown universe of exploration and knowledge. My goal is to learn with humility and acknowledge the unknown with curiosity. After my dissertation, I plan to apply for a clinical neuropsychology-based post-doctorate program in the NY/NJ area, where I am currently located.
