Depending on their backgrounds in mathematics and computer science, candidates for the MSCS degree must complete courses totaling 30 to 54 credits from the following categories:

• Foundational Mathematics
• Foundational Computer Science
• Required Core Computer Science Course
• Required Applied Computer Science Courses
• Computer Science Electives
