Production Opportunities in the C. Walsh Theatre

The C. Walsh Theatre is undergoing a significant renovation scheduled to be completed in September.  As well as a beautiful aesthetic upgrade that will increase the intimacy and connection between performers and audience, the theatre will have upgraded HVAC, electrical power, multi-media, sound and lighting.   In addition to being the main place for assembly for the University, The C. Walsh Theatre is a home for larger-scale Theatre Department Productions. Recent productions include:

The C. Walsh is also the home for the Boston Music Theatre Project, which presents professional productions of new musicals in development and has featured guest artists such as Tony-award winning composers William Finn (The Falsettos, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and lyricist-composer Ricky Ian Gordon.

The Theatre Department also presents prestigious visiting professional performing artists and arts organizations from the United States and around the world.

  • In 2006-2007, world-class early music ensemble Boston Camerata in collaboration with the Turkish music ensemble Dunya.
  • Hagoromo – “The Feather Robe” – presented by the Kanze School of Noh Theatre, Japan
  • Me Am I – presented by the Milwaukee Dance Theatre
  • Requiem for Srebrenica presented by the Massachusetts International Festival of the Arts
  • OPENINGS Theatre Company of Dublin’s Moll
  • The United States premiere presentation of the Daita International Nagauta Music Ensemble of Tokyo.
